Review: Little Social

I've seen Jason Atherton on Saturday Kitchen quite a few times, he wears tight t-shirts in that: "Yeah, I'm a middle aged man, but sure, I look after myself." kind of way.

If the leeks had blown my mind would I have described it as 'overwhelming'? I doubt it.

I don't really like the phrase 'soft launch' as it makes me think of Donald Trump wearing a sailor hat, trying to thumb his penis into you having forgotten to take his viagra.

Review: La Trompette

Music and food is a match made in heaven, one of my favourite past times involves settling down in front of the Mini Disc player, blasting out some tunes and chowing down on some good nosh. Here are a few of my favourite combinations: Take That with Squid Bon Jovi with Asparagus Taylor Swift with Ham … Continue reading Review: La Trompette

Ferdie’s Food Lab – Supper Club

August 23, 2016August 23, 2016 / foodieboys / Leave a comment

The Foodie Boys have tired of the restaurant scene of late. “A table for two please.” “Do you have a reservation?” “No.” That sort of thing. Boring. No! Calm down! Be still your beating dicks/fannys. That doesn’t mean our days of blogging about food are over! No, we’re branching out down some exciting new avenues … Continue reading Ferdie’s Food Lab – Supper Club

Did you know that we are not just the Foodie Boys, but we are also Foodie Boyfriends? As in, we have girlfriends - not that we are going out with each other. Nothing wrong with that or course, but unfortunately Tony feels uncomfortable when a man comes within two feet of him. As in, stands … Continue reading Reviews: Olive Tree – Bath

Review: Four to Eight – Tony

March 1, 2016March 23, 2016 / foodieboys / Leave a comment

The other day I met my lady friend after work for a drink or two, I can't remember why, but I'm sure we probably had some reason or other. After the drinks one of us must have gone: "Hmm, by the time we get home it's going to be a bit late to cook, shall … Continue reading Review: Four to Eight – Tony

Review: The Laughing Gravy – Tony

November 23, 2015March 23, 2016 / foodieboys / Leave a comment

On Saturday I found myself watching football and enjoying a beer when I received a text message. "Looking for somewhere for dinner, but everywhere seems to be booked up. Any ideas?" Said the text message. "What do you think?" I replied. "Not sure. Do you know anywhere?" "Are you seriously asking a FoodieBoy if he … Continue reading Review: The Laughing Gravy – Tony

Good evening, tonight I had a traditional Sunday anchovy and samphire spaghetti. It’s the quickest I’ve ever cooked anything and it tasted perfectly reasonable.
As if there was ever any doubt, @garethwardchef’s Katsu and tiramisu session at @artisanstreetkitchen was banging.
Yes, this photo looks like it was taken on one of the potatoes I’ve just mashed. However, I’d like to present toad in the hole - put beef dripping from last week’s beef in the batter and it was bloody amazing. Thanks.
Today’s lunch simply screams “successful, young businessman,” what does your lunch say about you?
